Photoshop 7 Forgotten

Prior to the introduction of the Photoshop CS family of products, Photoshop 7 was the industry standard when it came to photo and image manipulation on a commercial level. It still works well and for non-commercial or lower end, budgets can provide a less expensive means of handing images. It is also usable on slightly older system. The Photoshop 7 systems requirements are Windows 98 through Windows XP, as it is an older piece of software from Adobe it is functionality with Vista may be limited or non-existent. The Photoshop 7 software system requirements outside of the operating system are a Pentium 3 or comparable processor, at least 128 mbs of free RAM. This is different from total Ram. In order to run Photoshop 7 effectively it needs to have the recommended Ram free and available so the system will need to have a minimum of 192 mbs of ram. This will allow space for both the program itself and the operating system to run without slowing down CPU usage. A video card capable of handling a minimum of 256 colors and a screen capable of 800x600 resolution and to make absolute full use of the software itself, a video card with 16 mb on board memory in addition to a monitor with resolution of 1024x768 is recommended but not required for running the program.

On Mac systems a G3 or G4 processor, 128MB of RAM, 8 bit video card, monitor with 800x600 resolution settings, and Mac OS 9.1 or later or Mac OS 10.1 or later. For optimum usage on a Mac system a 350MHz G3 processor with 258MB of Ram and a video card with a minimum of 16MB of onboard memory is recommended. If you are looking for information on Photoshop 7, you will find most of it in the support archives of the Adobe website. It is not a software edition that is currently still being produced having been replaced by newer versions of the Photoshop software, it is however still available through a number of retailers both in store, though this is harder to find, than online. If you are looking for a piece of software than can handle your image needs and is a full version without having to pay the expensive cost of the newer versions. If you are looking for Photoshop 7, checking out websites by Amazon and eBay are your best chances at finding a new or used copy.
